How much does a font cost?

This depends on many variables. If you're interested in a custom typeface write to baselab(at)baselab.net and let us know a bit about your project. We'll get back to you with a price quote.

How much time do you need to develop a custom font?

It really depends on the scope of each project. A quick answer is that it could take between two weeks and two years. But tell us a bit more about your project and we'll refine our answer.

My client doesn't understand the benefits of a custom font.

The benefits of a custom font are better shown than described. We can help you show your client with sketches or samples.

Can I have a quick estimate?

Of course. Just fill out our quick questionnaire with the details of your project and we'll get back to you quickly with a price quote.

Do you modify existing fonts?

We've done this in the past but legal issues can make font modifications more trouble than they're worth. We always prefer to create for you or your client a unique custom font from scratch. But just tell us a bit about your project and we'll help you find a solution.

What kinds of jobs do you do?

We design fonts, draw logos, restyle and improve logos... Everything that has to do with black & white, and sometimes even color.
We also do some small programming to find concrete solutions to concrete design-related problems.

What about the tools you make?

We've programmed a variety of tools for clients and internal projects. We don't sell them or distribute them, as most of the time they are rough pieces of code designed to do a very specific job and nothing else. We do give some tools away as-they-are; you'll find more information about the tools we've designed throughout this site.
