The system consists of two small programs. One generates the individual image needed for each page, using as reference the complete image or text that is ultimately to appear on the side of the book. The second program asks for the images generated by the first program, and places them at the right edge of the Indesign book document, automatically making the desired transformations (such as flipping the left page top and bottom images).
Using the Booksider, the designer is saved the hand-placing of, in this example, 1536 images. Not to mention the time it takes to generate and transform the images...

A mock-up is needed, to be sure everything is in its place.
